The Windhunter Maritime Hydrogen Generation System was developed to capture ocean windpower to electrolyze hydrogen from water. Supertankers would be joined into giant catamarans with an array of windturbines mounted on supports that could be elevated vertically or laid flat on deck as needed. The resulting hydrogen would be stored in large tanks and transported to shore by helicopter. The system did not go into production due to the considerable cost of building a full scale prototype.
